Etihad Boeing 787-9 A6-BLG was delivered Paine Field – Abu Dhabi this morning as EY9006. The aircraft is the seventh Boeing 787-9 for the airline. It is in 28J/271Y configuration and wears Facets of Abu Dhabi livery.
Etihad A320 A6-EIZ operated a Rome Fiumcino – Milan Linate rotation this evening as EY8031/EY8032 and then Rome Fiumicino – Milan Malpensa as EY8033. The flights are reported to have been carrying an Alitalia and Etihad management group.
Etihad A380 A6-APH was delivered Finkenwerder – Abu Dhabi this morning as EY9005. The aircraft is in 2P/9F/70J/415Y configuration and Facets of Abu Dhabi livery. This brings the Etihad A380 fleet up to eight aircraft.
Etihad A330-200 A6-EYJ operating the Nagoya – Beijing sector of EY889 Nagoya – Beijing – Abu Dhabi diverted via Tianjin late tonight due to weather at Beijing. The onward sector to Abu Dhabi has been delayed overnight.
Etihad A330-200 A6-EYN operating EY474 Abu Dhabi – Jakarta was around 40 minutes from Jakarta when it encountered severe turbulence causing injury to 31 passengers and internal damage to the aircraft. As a result the return EY475 was cancelled.
Etihad A380 A6-APA arrived into Sydney as EY454 from Abu Dhabi this evening (depart Abu Dhabi 3rd May, however the return EY455 has been delayed overnight. It is not clear whether this is due to a technical or a crew issue.
Etihad Boeing 787-9 A6-BLF entered service this morning operating EY23 Abu Dhabi – Dusseldorf. This was the inaugural Dreamliner service on this service which was previously served by A330 and A340 equipment.
